Please read these terms carefully before booking our hair and beauty services.

Agreement to Terms

Welcome to HB Beauty! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website (hbbeauty.ca) and the hair styling, treatment, and makeup services we provide at our Waterloo salon and through our mobile service. By booking an appointment or using our services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

Services Offered

HB Beauty provides professional hair and beauty services including:

Hair Coloring

Balayage, highlights, full color, color correction

Hair Styling

Haircuts, updos, blowouts, special event styling

Hair Treatments

Keratin, Olaplex, hair botox, deep conditioning

Makeup Services

Bridal, special events, photoshoots

We reserve the right to refuse service or modify services based on hair condition, allergies, or other health and safety considerations. Consultations may be required for complex services.

Booking & Appointments

1 Booking Methods

Appointments can be booked through our online booking system at hbbeauty.ca/booking/ or by calling (226) 210-4099. Same-day appointments may be available but are not guaranteed.

2 Confirmation

You will receive an email confirmation once your booking is complete. Please check your spam folder if you don't see it within 5 minutes. For consultation bookings, we will contact you within 24 hours to confirm your appointment.

3 Arrival Time

Please arrive on time for your appointment. Late arrivals may result in shortened service time or rescheduling, and full service charges may still apply. If you're running late, please call us as soon as possible.

4 Consultations

For complex color services (color correction, dramatic changes), a free consultation may be required before booking. This helps us assess your hair and provide an accurate quote and timeline.

Cancellation & No-Show Policy

24-Hour Cancellation Notice Required

We require at least 24 hours notice for all cancellations or rescheduling. This allows us to offer your time slot to another client.

  • Late Cancellation: Cancellations within 24 hours may forfeit the deposit or incur a 50% service charge
  • No-Show: Failure to attend without notice will result in full deposit forfeiture or 100% service charge
  • Bridal/Events: Require 72 hours notice; late cancellations may incur full service charges

We understand that emergencies happen. If you have extenuating circumstances (illness, family emergency), please contact us to discuss your situation. We'll do our best to work with you.

Pricing & Payment

Service Pricing

Prices are listed on our website and may vary based on hair length, thickness, and complexity. Final pricing will be confirmed during consultation or booking.

Deposit Requirement

A $40 CAD deposit is required for most paid services at the time of booking. The deposit is applied toward your final service cost. Consultations are FREE and require no deposit.

Payment Methods

We accept cash, debit cards, and major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express). Payment is due at the time of service. The remaining balance after deposit is due upon completion.

Pricing Changes

We reserve the right to update our prices at any time. Prices at the time of booking are honored for that appointment.

Gratuity

Gratuity is appreciated but never required. If you're happy with your service, tips can be added to card payments or given in cash.

Service Expectations & Results

Realistic Expectations

Hair services require realistic expectations. Results depend on your current hair condition, color history, and hair type. We'll discuss achievable results during consultation.

Multiple Sessions

Some dramatic color changes, especially color corrections, may require multiple sessions to achieve your desired result while maintaining hair health.

Product Quality

We use only professional-grade products (Olaplex, Redken, Wella). Results may differ from box dyes or previous salon experiences due to our premium product quality.

Touch-Ups & Corrections

If you're not satisfied with your service, please contact us within 7 days. We'll work with you to make it right at no additional charge if the issue is service-related.

Client Responsibilities

To ensure the best results and experience, clients are responsible for:

  • Accurate Information: Providing complete and honest information about your hair history, allergies, medications, and previous treatments
  • Clean Hair: Arriving with clean, dry hair unless otherwise instructed (some services require unwashed hair)
  • Communication: Communicating your desired results and any concerns before we begin the service
  • Mobile Services: Providing adequate space, lighting, and access to power outlets and water for mobile appointments
  • Aftercare: Following recommended aftercare instructions to maintain your service results
  • Respectful Behavior: Treating our staff with respect and courtesy

Health & Safety

Allergy & Sensitivity Disclosure

You must disclose any allergies, skin sensitivities, or medical conditions that may affect your service. We may require a patch test for certain chemical services. Failure to disclose allergies may result in adverse reactions, for which we cannot be held liable.

Patch Testing

For first-time clients or those with sensitive skin, we may require a patch test 48 hours before color services.

Medical Conditions

If you're pregnant, nursing, undergoing chemotherapy, or have scalp conditions, please inform us before booking. Some services may not be recommended.

Illness

If you're feeling unwell or have contagious symptoms, please reschedule your appointment. We'll waive cancellation fees for illness with reasonable notice.

Limitation of Liability

While we strive for excellence in all services, clients acknowledge the following limitations:

  • Hair services involve inherent risks, especially chemical processes. Results may vary based on individual hair condition and history.
  • We are not liable for allergic reactions if you failed to disclose allergies or declined a patch test.
  • We are not responsible for hair damage from previous services performed elsewhere or from lack of disclosure about hair history.
  • Our liability is limited to the cost of the service provided. We are not liable for consequential damages.
  • If you're dissatisfied, we'll work to correct the issue within 7 days. After this period, correction services may incur charges.

Photography & Social Media

We may photograph your hair service results for our portfolio, website, and social media. By receiving services, you grant us permission to use these images for marketing purposes.

Opt-Out: If you prefer not to be photographed or featured, please inform us before your service. Your privacy preferences will be respected.

Refund & Satisfaction Policy

Your satisfaction is important to us. If you're not happy with your service, please contact us within 7 days.

Complimentary Corrections

We offer complimentary corrections for service-related issues when reported within 7 days.

No Refund Situations

Deposits and payments are non-refundable after service completion. Change of mind after receiving service does not qualify for a refund.

Cancellation Refunds

Deposits cancelled with proper 24-hour notice will be refunded or credited toward future services.

Website Use & Booking System

Our website and online booking system are provided for your convenience. By using our website, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate information when booking appointments
  • Not abuse the booking system or make fraudulent bookings
  • Not use our content, images, or materials without permission
  • Access the site only for lawful purposes

Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the new terms. We recommend reviewing this page periodically.
